Terrified and all, nobody seems to care
You cram all you can, there is just no space for more
Time is now on the tracks and tide just showed up too
The shot is fired, and they are both locked in a race
The nights are longer, you can’t afford to sleep
The brain is full but u need to find more space
Nothing is sticking yet the clock keeps ticking
Student life they said, torture and pain no one said
You try to understand, but u can’t even imagine.
Books upon books, theory without practicals
Teachers come and go, the system remains the same
We suffer in silence, yet nobody seems to care
Who will save us from this misery?
Our education system, so twisted and framed
The hands that sets the questions is the same hand that pockets the bribe
We chew and pour, no wonder we are poor
No imagination whatsoever, no creativity in our minds
This can’t be education, this better be slavery
Exams is here, you better be prepared
For the questions are set and they don’t want to be friends.
The future looks bleak, the dream remains dead
Things might change, but the old adage never does
Experience is the best teacher, this will be true tomorrow
Who cares about tomorrow, after all tomorrow never comes
But tomorrow is already here, and it’s not very bright
Tomorrow suffers, and our students suffer
Our students suffer, and tomorrow suffers
It’s not rocket science to know that we are tomorrow
Lets gird up our loins and reach for change.
